This is why I hate cats. I mean seriously. They attack. They injure. Do you seriously want you pet constantly attacking your child. Cats are not family pets. Dogs will take as much as a child will give it if it’s a family pet. They’re calm and will actually sleep through it. I fucking hate cats. And here’s the proof why. That cat did that to my child I’d throw it out the window
not all cats are the same dude….i had a cat who was a total sweetheart and had one of the biggest hearts for everyone. he never hurt anyone and he was so relaxed. watch your mouth about talking shit about cats in front of me… they are a great pet if you give them a chance. that kid got what he deserved.
My friend a cat for fucking years then out of he blue it attacked her. For no reason. That cat was biting the child. So it was a form of discipline. You do it when a dog bites. It’s the reason my dog doesn’t bite. I don’t abuse him. But a small slap is discipline for biting. Cats just bite. I know I’ve been around my aunts cats. She had four. I played with Charlie when I was a kid. Let’s just say even as a “family cat” he attacked. They’re dangerous
again, every cat is different, maybe that cat was abused, maybe the cat wanted to show dominance, again, cats share a huge portion of our emotions as well, we don’t like being told what to do, we don’t like getting picked up every day. how do you think a cat feels being so small and a person towering over them? they feel frightened and vulnerable, of course the cat bites and would attack, they think you are a threat if you make threatening signs like leaning over them, touching the bellies (which is their vital organs),etc.
owning a cat is completely different than owning a dog, dogs aren’t as smart or clever as cats, they don’t share our emotions like cats.
cats have a shorter fuse. with dogs, you don’t need to gain their trust or spend much time with them, but a cat you have to let them trust you you have to share a special bond with them. they are very deep minded creatures who should be treated with as much respect as dogs. dogs can be just as bad as feral cats.
And that wasn’t no small slap. That kid straight whacked that cat. And I bet that kid didn’t even have a scratch on him.
if anyone pays attention to the kids face BEFORE he hit the cat… you can see he looks like hes crying already… so its possible that the cat had scratched him or was already hissing at the child to begin with… not saying what the kid (or cat) did was right… im just saying… none of us know the entire context of this 4 second video/gif so none of us are in a position to say which party is in the right or wrong. i myself have 2 cats and i have had them longer than my 4 year old nephew has been alive. there have been times when i have had to get on to my one of my cats for hissing/biting/scratching my nephew for no reason when he was younger yet the other one would let him pull on the ear/tail/fur with not even a twitched whisker. When my nephew got old enough to understand that the other cat is ‘temperamental’, he would get in trouble for ignoring the signs and continuing to mess with the cat, or he wouldnt get much sympathy of the cat scratched him (which he didnt often leave bad marks) so it can depend on the cat in particular as well as the up-bringing they had (so to speak) as to whether or not they can be ‘family’ pets. *by the way, neither cat has ever been beat/abused as i have had both of them since they were old enough to be weaned (one was a rescue - someone left him out by a nearby lake and his tail was clipped by the fan of the motor that he climbed up into for warmth starting… we took him home, cleaned his tail wound, and even though hes been very wary of people ever since, he has never been abused) the other cat was given to me by a friend after he was able to leave his mother because they couldnt afford to keep and take care of the litter she just had*
